Allowing the ability to turn on the oven from a device is incredibly useful- of course you have the ability to also enable and cancel (turn off) the oven, light, timer, and cook time as well. Also with location allowed, you™™ll never leave with the oven on again. I believe this is true with the stovetop as well, though you must manually turn the knobs at the appliance, you are alerted that it™™s still on when you™™re no longer at the same location (just outside the home). Very cool features! Also place leftover oven dish in and begin reheating when you™™re ready, or have a cake or brownies ready to go and just start the oven with a cook time for auto-off upon cook time completion.

Everything is good. I like the ease of cleaning the cooktop and how quickly the eyes heat up. I like how quickly the oven heats up. I wish the timer would start on its own instead of having to hit the start button, which I sometimes forget to do. I don™™t like the lower storage drawer. It is not very large and appears cheaply made. But on balance, I like the appliance.

My only disappointment is that I asked for stainless and I received a white stove. While I was waiting to hear from Sears, the delivery man appeared at my door. The stove removed was an almond finish which you no
longer make.

Our new oven is great, the controls are basic. Easy configuration. The smart features are blowing my mind! Being able to preheat it from my phone on the way home is a game-changer. As well as hearing the alerts from my connnected devices. It's so worth it just for the convenience and how much smarter my cooking routine has become! Love it!

I love this stove! It's the first time I've had a flat top and it's terrific.
I've been told that you have to clean up spills immediately because it can stain but I'm really trying to do that and it seems to be fine.
It's easy to operate and the temperatures are absolutely accurate. I love that one of the top burners has a large pan and a small pan feature. Terrific! So pleased with this purchase!

Wow! I have so much to say...
First, I had been a diehard GE customer. When I purchased my home 25 years ago, I purchased GE kitchen appliances. Although I replaced my dishwasher and refrigerator years ago, my GE Profile range was still working well even though it needed a new lower oven element about 5 years ago. In recent years, the oven door has started to stick. A little cleaning and a squirt of silicone spay seemed to fix the problem until this past Christmas. After the dinner was cooked and consumed on Christmas day, I baked mincemeat tarts. The door got stuck, and we could only open it about 6 inches. It was time for a new range.
The next day, I immediately searched the Internet for reviews of GE ranges. Unfortunately, the GE Profile line only manufactures ranges with a stainless steel finish™"my other appliances are all white. Therefore, I needed to examine one of the less expensive GE models. Most were identical, with feature variations such as cleaning mode, convention or crisping options, and WiFi. I chose the GRF400PV1WW model.
Granted, I should have seen the range at Home Depot or an appliance store, but I trusted GE products based on experience, and I needed a range so I could continue baking holidays. This was a mistake.
For someone used to a sturdy, well-designed glass top range, I was highly disappointed with the quality and design. Here are the highlights:
- The range is like a tin can. It is so lightweight that the range makes a hollow, tinny sound when I close the oven door or lower drawer.
- The sides of the lower drawer are only about 3" high, so you cannot store many baking sheets and pans. Besides being shallow, the drawer size does not accommodate a 16" pizza pan.
- Even though I am a computer nerd and love technology, the idea of WiFi on a range is silly. The range has a basic timer, and many people have mobile phones with timers, so why is an app needed to control the range? Besides, you should not be doing any significant cooking while not in the general vicinity of your kitchen. I just learned the WiFi signal is the blinking light behind the top of the range (that reflects on the tile wall). It is perpetually on even though I am not using the app.
- The range control panel looks and operates like digital products from the 1990s. The pixels on the clock and the settings display are huge, reminding me of the text on games like Pac-Man and Pong. The clock display lights up my kitchen at night; I don't need to turn on a light. In addition, to set the timer or oven temperature, you must use a _/+ soft button and cycle through the numbers. How retro and frustrating.
- I questioned the accuracy of the oven's temperature after baking a batch of bar cookies. I know that the temperature controls can become misaligned during shipping and installation. When the owner's manual did not provide sufficient information, I checked the GE website. I learned about the Temperature Bake Test, the "biscuit test," designed to determine if the open temperature was correct. GE should provide a coupon for refrigerator biscuits when purchasing. - If you hate seeing smudges, crumbs, and splashes on your cooktop, you will want to purchase a silicone cover. Otherwise, you will become a crazy person trying to keep the cooktop spotless.
Don't buy this range until you see it and read all the critical reviews. All the positive reviews are from people who probably never owned a top-of-the-line GE appliance, so they don't know what they are missing.

We have owned this range for two weeks now. We solved the chemical odor with the oven by turning it to self-clean. It heated to 500 F. The chemical smell was awful, but eliminated by doing self-clean for two hours then shutting it off. We did keep all the windows open and fans running. We haven't had a problem since.
We don't like the oven window. It has a mesh pattern which prevents you from seeing if the food is bubbling over or browning or not. We don't like the fact that the oven timer only sets minutes and hours, no seconds. All of the heating elements work well and heat up fast. Food doesn't stick if you use stainless steel pans and heat on medium heat before adding oil or food. Adding a little water creates some steam which keeps the food from sticking.
We recommend the 3-ply Tramo. . . brand of stainless steel. There is another 3-ply brand that is 3-ply only on the bottom, but not on the sides. Beware of that. Your pans have to be flat-bottomed, literally. Take a ruler and put the edge on the bottom. If you can see light between the ruler and the pan, that pan can damage your cooktop.
The cooktop takes more time to clean. Black shows every crumb and streak. We have a cooktop spray degreaser and blade, but haven't needed them yet. Things wipe up with a damp cloth.
Overall we like the range and hope it holds up.
The oven temperature is not calibrated. I'm going to figure it out from the online manual or call someone to do it. Everything works, but yes, these new appliances are flimsy and won't hold up as long as my old GE of 18 years did.
Don' fuss about not getting a physical copy of the manual. It really does save the environment if you access it online which is easy to do. You can even switch it from PDF to Word during download. You can print a few select pages if you need to.
The cooktop takes more care.

I don't like the changes. Hate that I have to push start when I use the timer and bake. The smaller and large burner in one, was nice on old stove, this stove I lost half of the settings, when you combined the two.

Had to return 1st range had a dent on door handle. The drawer keeps closing crooked the roller on 1 side is broken. Trying to order a new one but GE said can't find this product. Plus a small dent on side next to counter I have a gap.
